New role to drive forward international strategy

The University of Wolverhampton has appointed a new Pro Vice-Chancellor to drive forward its international strategy.

Tim Steele will join the University in June in the new role of Pro Vice-Chancellor (International).

Tim is currently Vice President of International Strategy and Partnerships at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) where he has responsibility for all the institution’s recruitment and partnership work for both the UK and international markets.

Over the last 20 years Tim has been a champion of the internationalisation agenda and has helped UCLan develop a number of strategic partnerships throughout the world, supporting over 5,000 students studying on a variety of courses in countries including China, Hong Kong, Oman, Mauritius, Cyprus, Singapore and Malaysia.

Tim said: “I am delighted to be joining the University of Wolverhampton and I am looking forward to working with the University community to implement a step change in our international operations. I strongly believe that under our mission as the University of Opportunity we can work in partnership throughout the world and the UK to produce the next generation of global citizens.”

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Geoff Layer, said: “We are looking forwarded to welcoming Tim to this new role within the University, which will focus on developing and leading our International Strategy.

“The University has a strong global mission, and this new role will focus on enhancing international student recruitment and developing our research collaborations. We will also continue to grow our international business partnerships and work with our transnational education partners to deliver a range of our courses overseas.”
