Coventry University has launched free online courses to assist employers and employees to maintain their mental health and wellbeing and help with challenges of remote working during the COVID-19 outbreak.
Over 18,000 learners have signed up for the courses so far.
The courses, which are open for enrolment until May 31, are part of the Thrive at Home initiative by the Mental Health and Productivity Pilot (MHPP). Coventry University leads the MHPP, which is a partnership with the University of Warwick, West Midlands Combined Authority and Mind.
The first course, Work-Life Balance and the Impact of Remote Working, focuses on the context in which work-life balance has grown. It compares the key theories of work-life conflict, work-life integration and enrichment, and boundary management.
The second course, Motivation and Engagement in an Uncertain World, is aimed at people who wish to discover the importance of employment relationships and the importance motivation and engagement has in the workplace.
The third course, Managing Mental Health and Stress, is for people who want the opportunity to further understand the link between work-related stress and mental health problems.
The courses were developed by the Coventry University Online Team and the School of Psychology, Social and Behavioural Sciences.

MHPP’s free Thrive at Home toolkit, which is produced by the West Midlands Combined Authority, gives guidance to employers and managers to help their businesses to support employees who are working from home.
